I don’t have a plan
Though I keep trying to make one
Like putting concrete on a path in the sky
The foundation always seems sketchy at best
Non-existent at worst
The ideas are good
The strategy is sound
Everything looks good on paper
But nothing connects in my head
A fish does not understand the components of water
Yet it masters the tides and currents each day
The bird knows nothing about air
It just understands how to use it’s wings
And so too does my plan require a bit of faith
Something to build momentum
A lift to get it off the ground
The kind of support that requires no external infrastructure
Yet provides the internal structure needed to achieve any dream
To build a house on a foundation you can’t see
With the confidence that comes from realizing you have made magic before
Requires only the structural components, the reinforced concrete, born from believing in yourself
I don’t have a plan
But I’m starting to believe
Build some positive habits. Things that you do on a regular basis that will help move you toward whatever goal might be coming over the horizon. If you don’t know what your goals are, I’m sure that you can find a few small habits to get you to a better plan anyway.
